Corps Members serving in Ikwerre LGA have been asked to prioritize their personal security at all times by being conscious of their environment as well as circumspect of strangers.

Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe gave the advice Friday at Isiokpo, the headquarters of Ikwerre LGA, when he addressed Corps Members living there.

He enjoined them to uphold ethical values and conduct by not staying out late at night, avoid inviting strangers to the lodge, and ensuring that the gate of the lodge is always locked.

On the issue of a security breach in the lodge where an intruder jumped into the lodge, Mr. Oleghe commended the Corps Members for their bravery in arresting him and handing him over to the police.

He reminded them that the price for security is eternal vigilance.

The Coordinator used the opportunity of the visit to meet with Area Commander, Police Area Command, Isiokpo, Assistant Commissioner of Police S.K Smith, as well as the Director, DSS Ikwerre LGA, Mr. Uche Wonder.

Addressing the two security chiefs, Mr. Oleghe thanked them for providing round the clock surveillance on the lodge and their prompt response to the security breach at the lodge.

Responding, the security chiefs appreciated the Coordinator for his visit and engagement, and assured him that the Corps Members were safe and secured at all times.

They informed the Coordinator that the intruder has been profiled and charged to court for trespass, noting that he has been remanded in custody.
