NYSC: Shun Get-Rich-Quick Syndrome, Activate Skills Learnt During Service Year — Oleghe

Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, has charged 2025 Batch B Stream II Corps Members to shun get-rich-quick schemes and put the skills acquired during their service year to productive use.
Oleghe gave the charge on Thursday at the low-key passing-out ceremony for Corps Members who served in the Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt City zones, held at the Convocation Arena of Rivers State University, Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt.
Addressing the outgoing Corps Members, the NYSC coordinator urged them to “do right at all times to all men and women” and “activate fully” the skills they learnt during the service year.
He warned against the temptation to seek quick wealth, advising the Corps Members to embrace “hard work, discipline, dignity in labour and fear of God” as they begin the next phase of their lives.
The Special Guest of Honour and Vice-Chancellor of Rivers State University, Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, also charged the Corps Members to uphold ethical values that would positively project their personal image and family name.
He assured those interested in postgraduate studies that they would be “warmly welcomed” into the Rivers State University family and provided with the necessary assistance to integrate into the institution.
A total of 2,538 Corps Members passed out at the ceremony, while 48 Corps Members, comprising 28 males and 20 females, had their service extended as a disciplinary measure.
Another 12 Corps Members — five males and seven females — are to repeat the service year, while four Corps Members paid the supreme sacrifice for the fatherland.
