RIVERS STATE NYSC COORDINATOR RECEIVES LEADERSHIP AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE

Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe tuesday, bagged Grow Africa Youth Initiative Award.

The high flying youth-based organization with spread across the African continent conferred on Mr. Oleghe the ' *Kwame Nkrumah prize for Leadership Excellence as well as Icon of Nation Building Award'

Presenting the award to the State Coordinator, the Country Director and President of Grow Africa Youth Initiative, Mr. Temple Ozim described Mr. Oleghe as a complete gentlemen, astute administrator, youth friendly and welfare-oriented leader whose nomination and recognition by his organization is "apt and well-deserved.

He further noted that the award was also tied to the State Coordinator's enormous contributions and sacrifices in propagating the war against drug abuse by the youths, as well as youths growth, development, and empowerment.

He appreciated Mr. Oleghe's welfarist agenda for both staff and Corps Members, which he said equally, stood him out amongst contemporaries for the award.

Responding, Mr. Oleghe thanked the leadership of Grow Africa Youth Initiative for their gesture, describing his nomination and recognition as a pleasant surprise.

He noted that all he does was guided by the fear of God, good conscience and the good of humanity irrespective of tribe, ethnicity or religious persuasion and not for human praise or award.

He assured the organization that the award will spur him to do greater things in his small circle of leadership through determination, commitment, and dedication, especially in the fight against drug abuse amongst youths.

He disclosed that the NYSC Drug Free CDS group would be reinvigorated and reenergized for optimum performance, while the scheme's collaboration with the NDLEA would be strengthened.
