Insecurity: Kumuyi Storms Benue, Urges Nigerians to Turn to God for Lasting Solution

The Convener of the GCK and General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi, has called on Nigerians to seek divine intervention in tackling the worsening insecurity across the country, insisting that God remains the ultimate solution to the nation's challenges.

Kumuyi made the appeal on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to the Benue State Government House, where he met with Governor Hyacinth Alia, who was represented by his deputy, Sam Ode. The visit formed part of activities marking the week-long Global Crusade holding in Gboko and Otukpo Local Government Areas of the state, themed: 'Breaking Yoke Through Christ'

Addressing Journalists after the meeting, the renowned cleric said while individuals may be responsible for acts of violence and insecurity, lasting solutions can only come through God.

"We know that, when bad things happen, there are people who are responsible for it, but the people are not the solution. God is our problem solver," Kumuyi said.

He further urged Nigerians to return to God in humility and repentance, stressing that divine intervention remains available to those who sincerely seek Him.

"God is waiting for us. He said, 'If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and turn away from their sins,' He is ready to solve their problems," he added.

According to Kumuyi, the ongoing Global Crusade is designed to encourage people to reconnect with God and seek His intervention in addressing personal and national challenges.

The cleric also commended the Benue State Government for the progress recorded in some sectors despite prevailing security concerns.

"Benue is making remarkable progress in infrastructure and education, despite visible challenges around insecurity," he stated.

Speaking during the visit, Deputy Governor Sam Ode described Benue as a state richly endowed with agricultural and human resources. He reiterated the commitment of Governor Hyacinth Alia's administration to fostering peace, unity and inclusive development.

Ode said the state government remains focused on building "a peaceful, united and inclusive state where everyone can thrive."

The week-long Global Crusade in Gboko and Otukpo is coming shortly after Benue State commemorated its 50th anniversary, during which the government appealed to residents to embrace peace and reconciliation.
