The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry and Convener of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK), Pastor William Kumuyi, has declared that “this is Ogun State’s time” as the five-day GCK crusade begins in Ota today, August 26.
Kumuyi made the declaration on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to the Olota of Ota, Oba Prof. Adeyemi Obalanlege, ahead of the programme scheduled for August 26–30 at Anglican Grammar School, Abebi, Ota.
The visit was aimed at securing the support of the traditional institution and mobilising residents for the crusade, which is themed “Total Transformation Through Christ.”
Kumuyi, who was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Esther Kumuyi; South-West Regional Coordinator, Pastor Ayo Afolabi; state and regional pastors; and representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), said Ogun State was chosen because he believed the timing was divinely ordained.
“Choosing Ogun State is because the Lord laid it on our heart that this is the time for Ogun State. At this time, this is Ogun State’s time,” Kumuyi said.
According to him, the crusade will focus on salvation, healing and the transformation of individuals and families. He said the GCK initiative, which began five years ago, has taken the gospel to several Nigerian states and countries across Africa, Asia and other parts of the world, with testimonies of transformed lives.
Beyond the spiritual programme, residents are expected to benefit from free medical and humanitarian services. Kumuyi said GCK medical teams have previously provided treatments and performed surgeries, including eye operations, at various crusade locations.
“The GCK medical team will provide free medical services during the programme,” he said.
The outreach is expected to cover residents across Ado-Odo/Ota, Yewa South, Yewa North, Ipokia and Imeko-Afon Local Government Areas.
Kumuyi also prayed for peace, security and progress in Nigeria, saying the ministry remained committed to seeking divine intervention for the country.
“Our desire for our country and the desire of everyone, every citizen is peace, security, progress in our land,” he said.
He further expressed confidence that the crusade would bring healing and restoration to participants.
“We are still looking up to God to make a great change and transform in every life that comes. The sick will be healed and those who have challenges, the Lord will restore them,” Kumuyi said.
The Olota of Ota welcomed Kumuyi and his delegation, expressing optimism that the crusade would transform lives and contribute to peace and development in Ota.
The five-day programme will hold daily at 5:00 PM and is being jointly hosted by the CAN and PFN Ogun West chapters.
An Impact Academy for Youth, themed “Transformed to Break Limits,” will also be held at the crusade venue.
