Corps Members in Rivers State Train Students in Skill Acquisition

The Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Council in Rivers State Chief Vincent Nemebioka, has donated one million naira to Corps Members to boost their free skill acquisition training program for primary and secondary school students who are in holidays 8n the area.

The Chairman made the donation when he visited the Council's Administrative Hall, venue of the skill acquisition programme.

Addressing the participants, Chief Nemieboka praised the Corps Members for their creative thinking and spirit of industry, noting that a society that needs to grow economically must align itself with skills development.

He described the initiative as the first of its kind in the Council and assured them that a date will soon be announced to formally welcome them to the Local government area.

The fund for the programme was raised by the Corps members from the money gifted to Nigerian Christian Corpers Fellowship (NCCF) by the Anglican communion, Ogu/Bolo during an outreach program.

It was then used to procure materials for training of the students in areas such as pastries, (chin-chin, cake, meat-pie, small chops etc), preparation of local and international delicacies, soap and liquid soap production, make-up, and make-over, gele tying and other entrepreneurial skills aimed at equipping the students with sustainable skills for self-reliance.
