LAGOS, Nigeria — The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W. F. KUMUYI , has reaffirmed his faith in the continuing healing ministry of Jesus Christ, declaring that Christ remains present and active in His Church.
Kumuyi made the declaration while ministering at the Special Miracle and Revival Hour held at the ministry’s international headquarters in Gbagada, Lagos and beamed worldwide
The service, themed “The Healing Christ, Resident and Reigning in His Church,” featured prayers for the sick and oppressed, with thousands attending physically and many others participating online from different parts of the world.
Drawing biblical references from Exodus 15:26, Matthew 28:20 and Psalm 138:2, Pastor Kumuyi emphasized that the presence of Christ in His Church is real and enduring.
He explained that God’s declaration of Himself as the Lord who heals, together with Christ’s promise to remain with His followers, provides a foundation for believers’ faith in divine intervention.
According to the Pastor, Christ’s presence in the Church is not merely symbolic but one that inspires faith in His power to heal, deliver and preserve those who trust in Him.
Reflecting on the healing ministry of Jesus as recorded in the Gospels, Kumuyi noted that Christ demonstrated compassion toward the sick and did not turn away those who came to Him for help.
He referred to the biblical account of the cleansing of a leper, highlighting how Jesus’ compassion overcame the barriers associated with the man’s condition and ceremonial impurity.
The preacher stressed that the compassion demonstrated by Christ during His earthly ministry remains unchanged.
Kumuyi also spoke about the authority given to God’s servants to minister in His name, explaining that the continuation of the Church’s healing ministry is intended to bring glory to God.
He noted that divine healing reflects God’s power and goodness and serves as a testimony to His work among His people.
He further described God’s healing as comprehensive, emphasizing that its significance extends beyond physical ailments to encompass other areas of human need.
According to him, the work of healing is rooted in the goodness of God and the operation of the Holy Spirit.
Following the message, the congregation participated in an intensive prayer session for the sick and those facing various forms of oppression.
Pastor Kumuyi prayed for worshippers present at the auditorium and participants joining the service virtually, asking God to confirm His Word with signs and wonders.
The gathering concluded with expressions of joy, praise and resounding shouts of “Hallelujah” as worshippers responded to the message in faith.
At the close of the service, Kumuyi announced that the special faith and healing series would continue the following Thursday, providing another opportunity for participants to gather for biblical teaching and prayer.
The programme reaffirmed the ministry’s emphasis on faith, prayer and the continuing relevance of Christ’s healing ministry in the life of the Church.
