Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, and former Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, have called on Nigerians to re-elect President Bola Tinubu in 2027, expressing confidence that his administration would deliver greater benefits to the country.
They spoke on Saturday in Kwale during the flag-off of the APC Top-Bottom Support Group, an initiative of former House of Representatives member, Hon. Ossai Nicholas Ossai, aimed at mobilising support for all APC candidates.
Onyeme praised Tinubu's economic reforms, describing them as steps towards sustainable national development. He urged voters to return the President to office, arguing that his administration deserved more time to consolidate its achievements.
The Deputy Governor also highlighted projects across Delta State under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's administration, including the sustainable electricity project, the proposed multi-billion-naira bridge to open up Akarai, and road projects linking Ndemili, Utagba-Uno, Eweshi, Inam Abbi, Emu and Ashaka.
He attributed improved funding for state and local governments to Tinubu's economic policies, noting that increased allocations had enhanced their capacity to execute projects and meet salary obligations.
Onyeme urged the Ndokwa people to support APC candidates at all levels, expressing optimism that Tinubu would accomplish more if re-elected.
Okowa, the APC senatorial candidate for Delta North, also canvassed support for Tinubu and other party candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Other speakers included APC Delta North Senatorial District Chairman, Engr. Dan Ossai; Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency representative, Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi; and the APC candidate for Ndokwa West Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Princewill Olie.
Earlier, Ossai said the support group was established to mobilise votes for all APC candidates. He expressed loyalty to Okowa, whom he credited with inspiring his political journey, and pledged to work for the party's candidates.
He also referenced the history of senatorial representation in Delta North, arguing that the district's constituent blocs should support one another's political aspirations.
Ossai concluded by urging his supporters to vote for all APC candidates, describing the initiative as a coordinated effort to secure an APC sweep across the nation.
