The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Aniocha North Constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Engr. Fidel Onwodi, has unveiled a development blueprint anchored on people-centred representation, infrastructure development, accountability, security and economic empowerment.
Onwodi presented his manifesto, tagged “Fidel PROMISEs More Gains with Renewed Hope,” during a press briefing at his country home in Issele-Mkpitime, Aniocha North Local Government Area, outlining seven pillars to guide his proposed legislative agenda.
The P.R.O.M.I.S.E. framework represents People-Oriented Representation; Realistic Goals and Renewal of Public Trust; Open Door Policy; Modernisation of Community Infrastructure and Development; Inclusive Policies for All Constituents; Security, Stability and Social Welfare; and Empowerment through Education and Enterprise.
He said the initiative aligns with the MORE agenda of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori; the MORE GAINS agenda of Aniocha North Local Government Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Bazim Chinye; and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.
Under the people-oriented representation pillar, Onwodi pledged regular consultations with traditional rulers, youth groups, women, farmers, professionals and community leaders to ensure that constituents’ concerns inform legislative decisions. He also promised town hall meetings, an accessible constituency office and continuous engagement with residents.
On accountability, the APC candidate said he would pursue realistic legislative priorities, promote transparency and strengthen oversight to ensure that public resources and government interventions deliver measurable benefits.
Drawing on his engineering background, he identified roads, healthcare facilities, schools, water supply, electricity and digital connectivity as priorities. He pledged to advocate sustainable infrastructure projects, strengthen development partnerships and promote equitable distribution of facilities across the constituency.
Onwodi also promised inclusive policies that create opportunities for young people, women, farmers, artisans, persons with disabilities and small business owners, stressing that development should benefit all communities and social groups.
On security and social welfare, he pledged to support collaboration among security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders and residents to improve public safety, prevent conflicts and promote peaceful coexistence. He also promised to advocate youth engagement and welfare interventions for vulnerable groups.
Under the education and enterprise pillar, Onwodi said he would promote skills acquisition, vocational training, digital literacy, information and communication technology education, entrepreneurship and support for small businesses. He added that expanding educational and employment opportunities, particularly for young people and women, would help strengthen economic self-reliance.
The candidate described the manifesto as a framework for accessible, accountable and responsive representation, with emphasis on practical development priorities and improved living standards.
He commended Governor Oborevwori and Chairman Chinye for their respective development efforts in Delta State and Aniocha North. He also praised former Delta State Governor and APC Delta North Senatorial candidate, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, and former House of Representatives Minority Leader and APC candidate for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, OON.
Onwodi called for unity among APC members in Aniocha North ahead of the forthcoming general elections, urging party faithful to prioritise collective mobilisation and sustained engagement with voters.
He maintained that the P.R.O.M.I.S.E. manifesto provides a framework for his proposed representation, focusing on accountability, inclusive governance, infrastructure development and economic empowerment across Aniocha North Constituency I.
