Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has described the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, as "the John Wesley of our generation," in recognition of his decades of unwavering commitment to evangelism, prayer and national unity.

The commendation came in a message on Monday during the grand finale of the Abuja edition of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK), themed "Wonder-Working Power of Christ," held at the National Stadium, Abuja.

The crusade, convened by Pastor Kumuyi, attracted thousands of worshippers from Abuja and neighbouring communities, who gathered to participate in what many described as a life-transforming spiritual experience.

The programme was also transmitted live to audiences in over 120 countries, extending its impact across continents.

Throughout the crusade, numerous testimonies of salvation, divine healing, deliverance and miracles were recorded, with participants recounting remarkable encounters believed to have occurred during the services.

Representing the First Lady at the event was the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) and Chaplain of the Aso Villa Chapel, Bishop Professor Stephen Adegbite.

Delivering the First Lady's goodwill message, Adegbite praised Pastor Kumuyi for his exemplary leadership and enduring contributions to the spiritual growth of the nation.

"Today, we give all glory and praise to Almighty God. I am particularly delighted to be here because of the profound respect I have for the ministry of Pastor W.F. Kumuyi. He remains a tremendous blessing to Nigeria and beyond," he said.

Describing the renowned cleric as a national asset, Adegbite added: "Pastor Kumuyi is the John Wesley of our generation. He is a man deeply committed to prayer, righteousness and the unity of Nigeria. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu celebrate and appreciate your invaluable contributions to nation-building and the advancement of the Gospel. The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) also stands in appreciation of your ministry."

According to him, Pastor Kumuyi's presence in the Federal Capital Territory had brought spiritual renewal and peace to many lives.

Also speaking at the event, elder statesman and former Minister of Information, Professor Jerry Gana, extolled Pastor Kumuyi as a gift to Nigeria, Africa and the global Christian community.

"I join millions around the world in celebrating our General Superintendent, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, who has remained a blessing to Nigeria, Africa and indeed the entire world. May the Lord continue to strengthen and preserve you for many more years of fruitful ministry," Gana said.

Quoting Isaiah 60:1, Gana declared: "The Lord is saying to you, 'Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.' Wherever you may be, continue to arise and shine, for God's glory rests upon you."

The Abuja Global Crusade with Kumuyi ended in an atmosphere of joyous worship, thanksgiving and renewed commitment to the Christian faith, as participants expressed gratitude for what they described as a historic and impactful gathering.
