Gov Fubara pledges total comittment to NYSC Scheme in Rivers
MY ADMINISTRATION WILL REMAIN STEADFAST, RESOLUTE, AND INTENTIONAL IN OUR SUPPORT TO THE NYSC SCHEME - FUBARA*
Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has assured Corps Members that his administration will remain "steadfast, resolute, and intentional" in supporting the programmes and activities of the NYSC Scheme in the State.
The Gov who stated this at the swearing in ceremony of 2026 Batch A Stream I Corps Members deployed to the State, opined that no nation "can develop and be great without harnessing the potentials of its youth and leaders of tomorrow."
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman NYSC State Governing Board, Dr. Benibo Anabraba, Gov Fubara assured the Corps Members that the massive renovation and upgrade of facilities embarked upon by his administration will be completed in record time while new infrastructure will be put in place to accommodate the increasing number of Corps population being deployed to the State.
Earlier in his welcome address, the State Coordinator NYSC Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe appreciated the governor for his commitment to construct a brand new 1000 capacity hostel accommodation for both boys and girls in camp.
He announced that a total of 2638 Corps Members made up of 1007 males and 1631 females have so far completed their registration and have been been registered, while over 300 of them are yet to complete their registration.
The administration of the Oath was carried out by Hon. Justice Chika Mini, who represented the Chief Judge of the State, Hon. Justice Chibuzor Amadi.
