Fulani herdsmen invades Onicha - Ugbo Community in Delta State, Kidnap two
Persons suspected to be Fulani Herdsmen have invaded the Onicha Ugbo community in Aniocha North local Government of Delta state and kidnapped two persons from their homes.
The daredavel kidnappers were said to have carried out their dastardly act between 7-8pm on the 20th of December, at Ogbe Obi, Idume Ose quarters, Onicha Ugbo where one ASHINZE Emmanuel Chukudi and a woman yet to be identified were whisked away and marched into the forest.
A brother of one of the kidnapped victim said the kidnappers had reached out to him this morning (21th of December) and demanded for a ransom of Fifty million naira, before his brother could be released.
He said the matter has been reported to the Issele Uku Police Station where little or no help was forthcoming adding that the Police instead advised him to negotiate with the Kidnappers.
He has therefore appealed to the Delta State Police Commissioner as well as the State Government to come to their aid as the Family cannot afford the amount demaded by the Kidnappers.
It will be recalled that based on the recent activities of the Delta State Police Command, the rate of Kidnapping in Delta Srate has been on the decline but with the festive period around the corner, the tempo may rise if the Police does not step up its war against Crime and criminality.
