BREAKING: Security Operatives Reportedly Seal Off Osun Speaker’s Residence

The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, has reportedly been placed under house arrest as unidentified security operatives in police uniforms allegedly surrounded his residence in Osun State.
According to reports, more than 10 black Hilux vehicles were deployed to the Speaker’s residence, with the premises reportedly cordoned off and occupants allegedly prevented from leaving.
The reason for the operation remains unclear.
The Imole Campaign Council says it attempted to contact senior police officers and the Police Situation Room for clarification but received no response.
The development comes as Osun State votes today in the governorship election, raising fresh concerns over security, political intimidation and the credibility of the electoral process.
The campaign council has called on security agencies to immediately explain the operation and urged all political actors to ensure that the election remains peaceful, transparent and free from intimidation or interference.
As of the time of reporting, there was no official explanation from the police or other security agencies.
