Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has assured Corps Members of their welfare and security during their service year in the state saying they were part of his 'Rivers First Agenda'

The Governor stated this on Monday at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai, when he declared the 2026 Batch B, Stream One orientation course open.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Special Services Bureau, office of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Samson Dede, Fubara, also promised his administration's unwavering determination and commitment to support the operations of the NYSC Scheme in the State.

He charged the Corps Members to take the skill acquisition training very seriously as well as to participate actively in all camp activities and programmes.

The Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe in his speech, advised the Corps Members to see their posting to Rivers State as a rare privilege and the best opportunity for self-discovery and improvement and commended the Governor for the donation of brand new 2,500 mattresses for Corps Members use.

Mr Oleghe appreciated the people of the state, security agencies, leaders of the host communities, transport union executives, Okada riders association, and critical stakeholders for their unwavering support to the NYSC Scheme and Corps Members in the state.

A total of 3,512 Corps Members made up of 1,572 males and 1,940 females were sworn by the Chief Judge of Rivers State, represented by Justice Prince Mini.
