The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has busted an alleged transnational drug syndicate after seizing 184.5kg of high-grade cocaine valued at about ₦39 billion.
The agency reportedly arrested the suspected kingpin, a social media influencer and businessman popularly known as “KC Luxury,” at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on August 13, as he allegedly attempted to flee to Paris.
The arrest followed the interception of the cocaine shipment at a logistics facility in Lagos. Intelligence gathered during the investigation allegedly linked the consignment to a network coordinated by the suspect.
NDLEA operatives reportedly recovered €7,750, £2,800 and ₦100,000, alongside luxury jewellery, when he was arrested at the airport.
A subsequent search of his luxury apartment in Banana Island, Lagos, allegedly led to the seizure of several exotic vehicles believed to have been acquired with proceeds from drug trafficking.
Investigators allege that the syndicate sourced cocaine from South America, moved it through Nigeria and shipped it onward to lucrative markets in the UK, Europe and Asia.
The NDLEA says investigations into the alleged multi-continental drug network are ongoing.
