Be a beacon of light in your communities - Rivers State NYSC coordinator urges Corps members

The Nysc Coordinator said such activity will promote knowledge, transparency, clarity, prosperity, guidance and awareness of culture.

The State Coordinator NYSC Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe has charged Corps Members to promote and practice positive culture that will engender peace, unity and development in the communities.

He gave the charge during the 2026 Batch A Stream I inter-platoon cultural carnival for Corps Members deployed to Rivers State.

He used the occasion to advise them to share, own, and be proud of the cultural heritage of Nigerians as young people and leaders of tomorrow, noting that cultural carnival during orientation exercises should not be seen as a mere jamboree.

He described the significance of cultural carnival to include using culture as a light to dispel darkness, ignorance, and negativity.

On the other hand, it promotes knowledge, transparency, clarity, prosperity, guidance and awareness of culture.

At end of the captivating and thrilling,inter-platoon cultural carnival competition, 6 platoon with Ijaw culture took the 1st position, 3 platoon with the Igbo culture took 2nd position while 7 platoon with Kalabari culture took the 3rd position.
