Abigborodo Chairman Accuses Orodje of Okpe of Defying Judicial White Paper, Using Military Force to Suppress Host Communities
The Chairman of the Abigborodo Management Committee, Hon. Misan R. Ukubeyinje, has accused the Orodje of Okpe, His Royal Majesty Major General Felix Mujakperuo (rtd), of defying the Delta State Government’s Judicial White Paper on the Okpe–Urhobo Forestry Reserve. Ukubeyinje alleges that the monarch has used military intimidation to suppress Abigborodo and other host communities while SEPLAT Energy Plc continues oil operations on their land without consent. He warns that the ongoing militarisation and denial of host community rights threaten peace in Abigborodo, Ugbekoko and Uton-Iyatsere, calling for urgent intervention from the Federal Government and regulatory authorities.
