Promotion of Economic Empowerment of Youths is One of Our Major Priorities.. House of Reps Committee Chairman on Youth Development

The Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Youth Development Hon. Martins Etim Esin has assured Corps Members that the National Assembly, will always make laws that would promote the economic emancipation of the youth, especially Corps Members.

The Chairman who stated this thursday at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai, when members of his committee visited the camp. assured the Corps Members that with the anticipated assent of NYSC Trust Fund bill by the President, better days await Corps Members and staff of the Scheme in terms of welfare and infrastructure upgrade of camp facilities.

He charged the Corps Members to be focused and acquire useful skills through the SAED programme and to be transparent while performing their INEC ad hoc duties during the 2027 general elections.

Earlier, the State Coordinator NYSC Rivers State, Mr. Moses Oleghe, praised the Corps Members for their unique roles in ensuring the smooth administration of the camp through hard work, discipline, and commitment."

He thanked the Chairman and members of the Committee for the visit, describing it as a historic one.

The Coordinator also commended the Governor of the State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, for his unwavering commitment and support to the NYSC in the state.
Mr Oleghe urged the Chairman to help attract more development to the Scheme especially the construction of a new secretariat complex and proper channelization of water to eliminate flooding at the camp during heavy rain, amongst others.
